To get a “behind the scenes” look at Redneck Blinds, and some insight into the company’s new products, we spoke recently with this Missouri-based innovator.

HuntStand: What sets Redneck Outdoor Products apart from the competition—what makes your company unique?
A. The unique combination of our commitment to customer service, our dedication to quality, and our innovative hunting products is what sets Redneck products apart and well ahead of our competition. We are an American owned and employee owned company comprised of blue collar, hardworking outdoorsmen and women who take pride in their work. As America’s leading manufacturer of fiberglass hunting blinds and accessories, we take great pride in setting the bar high and making sure our customers get the best possible value for their hard-earned dollar.

HuntStand: What are some new developments at Redneck Blinds for 2017?
A. This year is off to a great start and is shaping up to be another great year for Redneck! We are really excited to introduce our new Redneck Waterfowl Blind (see above). With the portable Redneck Waterfowl Blind you won’t need to waste time looking for cover, you can simply take it with you. Considering the practical needs of hunters, we are also introducing a handy 2 in 1 Deer Hoist and Skinner, capable of being mounted to any hitch.  The Hoist and Skinner saves our customers time while allowing them to continue to stay at camp while caring for their game. Based on customer feedback and our own field testing, we are also continuing to upgrade many of our existing product features and functionality.

HuntStand: How and when did Redneck Outdoor Products get its start, and where are you currently based?
A. Redneck was established in 2010 and is located in Lamar, Missouri. The company originally started as a custom fiberglass Street Rod body manufacturer. The company’s owners were not completely satisfied with the hunting blinds they had to choose from. They started tinkering with their own designs and took a prototype to a local retail store. The store liked them so much they placed an order for 200, and thus Redneck Blinds were born and Redneck Outdoor Products, Inc. was born. They say necessity is the mother of invention, and the gang at Redneck hasn’t looked back, or stopped innovating since.

HuntStand: What accomplishment is Redneck Outdoor Products most proud of over the last year?
A. At Redneck Outdoor Products we have several points of pride. Our favorite talking point is the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Each employee has the option to invest in the plan, therefore becoming part owner of Redneck Outdoor Products. Through this mutual community ownership program, each employee not only takes pride in their work, but they also have a chance at a return on their investment. Our employees work hard knowing that they are involved in building the best blinds in the country. In return, they see an increase in their investment when the value of their share of stock continues to climb with company profits.

HuntStand: How does Redneck Outdoor Products engage its customers for feedback, ideas, or suggestions for improvement?
A. Redneck Outdoor Products is the workin’ man’s blind brand, and we are dedicated to being involved with our customers. We run a very successful social media campaign, where people can learn about our products, see them in use, receive tips and hunting tactics, and send us feedback. We strive to hear feedback from all of our customers, not just those who are plugged in. For those not involved in social media, we still send out good old-fashioned customer surveys, and have a live American person answering our phones during regular business hours, and are always willing and able to read and respond to snail mail.

HuntStand: What are two things most people don’t know about Redneck Outdoor Products?
A. Our solid reputation and positive brand recognition has been built upon the shoulders of our raised platform hunting blinds. Some don’t know that we also make several other options for ground blinds that cater to hunting all sorts of game. Our Hunter’s Choice Bale Blind series is perfect for anyone hunting anything in farm country, while the new Redneck Portable Waterfowl Blind is perfect for mobile quack-heads. We have feeders, a really comfy portable chair, and all sorts of accessories to trick out your Redneck blind and hunt in style. Just like the AR 15 platform can be completely customized to fit the shooter, our Redneck blinds can easily be accessorized to fit each hunter’s needs. Lastly, for after the kill, we now have a Redneck Deer Hoist and Skinner that attaches to any hitch to quickly and safely deal with the deer while you’re still in the field.

HuntStand: What is your company mission statement?
A. The Redneck Outdoor Products mission statement is simple: To provide high level products with a high level of customer service and satisfaction. That being said, it is important to know that we are hunters too. Most of what we create and sell comes from ideas that we’ve had while in the field. We can’t say it enough; we are absolutely dedicated to making sure that our customer gets the best-possible product for the price. But selfishly, we love to hunt too, and you will not see a product with the Redneck logo on it that hasn’t been tested and approved by our employees.

HuntStand: How many people do you employ, and are you currently hiring?
A. We currently have about 80 employees at Redneck Outdoor Products. We are always looking to hire good people. To be part of the Redneck team you need to have a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and the ability to work well with others on a high-functioning team. If that sounds like you, send us a resume! HuntStand: If you could change one thing about Redneck Outdoor Products right now, what would it be?
A. We are constantly trying to create more awareness about Redneck Outdoor Products. We have so much more to offer than just our raised platform blinds. We know in our heart that every customer will be completely satisfied with their investment in our products, so we want every hunter to have the Redneck Advantage. By continuing to innovate and work with good people, we hope that someday soon the name “Redneck” will be common among waterfowlers and predator hunters too, not just deer and turkey guys.

HuntStand: What are some short-range (less than two years) company goals?
A.
Just wait to see what we’ve got in store! The company goals of Redneck Outdoor Products are to continue to expand our brand and grow our operation. As far as what’s coming down the production line next? You’ll just have to wait till 2018 to find out.
