Wise use of ground and elevated blinds can take your hunting to the next level. Redneck’s line of premium hard and soft-side blinds—which include innovative hay bale models—is ready to help you make it happen.
From the current wind and weather conditions to insights into the best hunting tactics and gear, all of us here at HuntStand Hunting believe that more knowledge leads to more hunting success. And that’s part of the genesis of this new feature, which aims to introduce the HuntStand community to a whole host of hunting-focused companies and gear.
Wise use of a ground or elevated blind is one of deadliest hunting tactics you can use, and Redneck Outdoor Products makes some of the finest examples you can find. From hard-side, maintenance-free fiberglass models to clever and functional Hay Bale models, to Redneck’s versatile new Soft Side blinds, this company has a model to fit most any need or budget. To get a “behind the scenes” look at Redneck Blinds, we spoke recently with company president Danny Little.
HuntStand: What sets Redneck Outdoor Products (Redneck Blinds) apart from the competition—what makes your company unique?
A: Redneck Outdoor Products prides itself in developing products for hunters—by hunters. It’s our attention to quality, practical end-user design and end-user satisfaction that sets us apart from the competition. Redneck Outdoor Products has a proven track record of introducing products that are true “game changers” for hunters.
HuntStand: What are some new developments at Redneck Outdoor Products for 2016?
A: We have introduced our new Soft Side line of semi-permanent blinds that can be used on the ground or on elevated stands. The new Soft Side blinds are designed along the lines of our wildly popular 6X6 Buck Palace, a hard-side fiberglass model. It features a rigid powder-coated metal frame that’s built to withstand high winds and heavy snow loads. The Soft Side blinds are available in Realtree camo or with 3-D, Ghillie covers.
HuntStand: How and when did Redneck Blinds get its start, and where are you currently based?
A: Redneck Outdoor Products first got its start in 2010. We had been making fiberglass car bodies for ‘32, ‘33 and ‘34 Fords, and when the economy started to decline during the recession, we developed our first fiberglass hunting blinds. The rest is history. We’re based in Lamar, Missouri.
HuntStand: What accomplishment is Redneck Blinds most proud of over the last year?
A: The fact that we continue to grow and add employees in a community of 4,500 people that’s been extremely hard hit by unemployment—with some of our largest local employers going out of business—we feel that’s a huge success. We have grown from our initial base of five employees in 2010, to approximately 80 current employees.
HuntStand: How does Redneck Blinds engage its customers for feedback, ideas, or suggestions for improvement?
A: We attend lots of consumer trade shows, and solicit customer feedback submitted via our website and email. Many features in our blinds are the result of customer suggestions that we’ve integrated.
HuntStand: What are two things most people don’t know about Redneck Outdoor Products?
A: Number one, that we are just a small, but quickly growing company in a small community of 4,500 people. Number two would be that our biggest source of accomplishment is felt when we hear feedback from customers talking about the joy they experience while using our blinds, while out hunting with their children and families.
HuntStand: What is your company mission statement?
A: To provide a high-quality product and customer service experience to our customers and their families.
HuntStand: How many people do you employ, and are you currently hiring?
A: We currently employ 80 people, and yes—we are currently hiring.
HuntStand: If you could change one thing about Redneck Outdoor Products right now, what would it be?
A: That we would have started manufacturing Redneck Blinds sooner.
HuntStand: What are some short-range (less than two years) company goals?
A: To continue to develop and produce cutting-edge products that will allow more children and handicapped hunters to enjoy hunting, the outdoors and God’s creation.
