The Distance Measurement in HuntStand is a super-helpful tool for hunters in many ways. Many hunters use it in lots of different ways. However, here are three ways Team HuntStand likes to use this nifty feature.
Great Scouting Tool
If you’re looking at a hunting location that you’re not familiar with, it’s a great idea to use the Distance Measurement tool to scout specific stand sites. As an example, it’s a great way to determine how far your shot might be across an open field. Or maybe to several spots visible from your stand, where your target animal might emerge. So if an animal steps out there, you’re instantly confident in your shot, and dialed-in to that range.
Basic Navigation
Another smart way to use the Distance Measurement tool is for basic navigation in your Hunt Area. And especially, in areas you’ve never hunted. How long will it take you to get from Point A to Point B? This is important to know for many reasons. Using the Distance Measurement tool as a straight line projection, or as a multi-segmented line, will give you a good idea of how long it will take.
As a Rangefinder
The third way we like to use the Distance Measurement tool is as a rangefinder. Maybe a deer steps out into a recently cut ag field and begins grazing. And maybe you forgot your rangefinder. You might have plenty of time to pull out your smartphone and use the Distance Measurement in HuntStand to find the range. It’s a pretty handy feature when you’re in a pinch.
