I’ve sent plenty of boot leather to the boneyard over the years. Just ask any of my hunting buddies and you’ll discover I’m notorious for setting the pace on a solid “death march,” whether it be chasing gobblers through miles of heavy timber (sorry, Pete and Branigan) or mule deer across deceivingly massive sage hills (sorry, Walt). However, I’ll be the first to admit that when you’re hunting big country, at some point you reach a point of diminishing returns when you try to hike everything on foot. That’s where an off-road machine can be a godsend.
The Yamaha Viking is an ideal 4×4 for hunters. It comes in a variety of models, price points, and feature sets to give you lots of flexibility in selecting a ride that’s right for you. From the rugged mountains of Idaho to huge ranches in Texas like the one featured in the video above, my field testing of various Vikings has been extensive. They’re comfortable, reliable workhorses that help you cover more ground, more efficiently. And a Viking bodes especially well when loaded up with a heavy load of fresh meat.
