A favorite hill-country hunt area. When an elusive nontypical buck reappears there yet again, the fall goal is set.
Life is good in Pennsylvania these days for resident and dedicated bowhunter Steve Rohrbach. For proof, Rohrbach, 53, has sent in several recent trail camera photos of some very fine bucks in his hunting area that include what looks to be an usually impressive nontypical, a submission that earns Rohrbach the title of Week 4 winner of our 2021 Big Buck HIT LIST contest. The weekly win scores Rohrbach a Wildlife Research Center scent and scent-elimination prize package valued at $67, and also makes him eligible for our drawing to win a Wildlife Research Center prize package valued at more than $180. “These bucks are regulars living on the mountainside in my hunting area, coming in to where my Muddy treestands are placed,” Rohrbach wrote.
“The large buck with the nontypical rack is a familiar face, and his rack configuration seems to change a lot each year, but is always impressive. I’m hoping to run into him during this year’s archery season, when I’ll be packing my Mathews compound bow.”
