For sending in a series of trail cam photos that feature a whopper of a known, elusive buck first encountered last November, Thompson is the Week 6 winner of our 2021 Big Buck HIT LIST contest. The weekly win scores Thompson a Wildlife Research Center scent and scent-elimination prize package valued at $83, and also makes him eligible for our drawing to win a Wildlife Research Center prize package valued at more than $180. Enter Today!Week6 Two 900“These photos were taken July 12, 2021 in Pike County, Arkansas, in a transition area between a six-year-old pine-growth thicket and a creek, not far from a highway, and I’ve also included a photo of the same buck from last year,” Thompson wrote.Week6 Four 900“This buck made a quick pass-through of our Pike County hunting area just one time last year that we know of,” Thompson continued. “I have included the best photo I have of him from last year; it was taken Nov. 12 (see image above), and he never reappeared for the rest of the season. I thought he was long gone.Week6 Three 900“Last year I figured this buck was an outsider looking to move in on some local does, however, as you can see, he is back and bigger than ever! From what I can tell, he is now sporting 13, maybe 14 points. This buck has awesome character for our area, and check out that crazy left brow tine! I hope to harvest this buck during archery season, before the rut is in full swing.”

To enter the 2021 Big Buck HIT LIST Contest, simply send us a few clear, high-res. digital trail cam photos (three to five) of a buck (or bucks) TAKEN IN THE SUMMER OF 2021 (Day or night images, photos accepted NOW THROUGH SEPT. 4). Be sure to include the following:

A. The dates and state where the images were taken. All images need a date stamp.

B. A few sentences detailing the type of terrain/area where the images were captured (i.e. cedar swamp edge, funnel leading to soybean field, favorite stand site near wooded creekbed, etc.).

C. Some info on the pictured buck(s). Do you have any history with the buck? Is the buck a likely newcomer to your area? Is the deer somehow unique or unusual for the area? What weapons/seasons will you use to hunt the pictured buck(s)?
