HuntStand allows you to drop unlimited pins and save individual hunting locations anywhere in the world. But what happens when you want to see the boundaries of a large hunting area with multiple individual locations? That’s where MapMarX comes into play. You can draw boundaries around anything on the map with MapMarX.
To access MapMarX in the HuntStand Hunting app, tap the small tool icon. You’ll find it next to ScoutTreX and the Measurement tools.
Here’s a great example of how I recently used MapMarX: I’m hunting deer on public land in Wyoming this fall. The area where I plan to hunt is a contiguous tract of Walk-In, Hunter Management Area, and state lands … and as you could imagine, it’s immersed among a patchwork of private lands. I’m using HuntSTand to digitally scout the ground in anticipation for the hunt. You’ve got to visualize success! I used MapMarX to draw boundaries around the entire hunting area, including all the different types of public land that I can access in that block. I cross referenced this with HuntStand’s Property Lines map overlay to make sure everything was accurate. Now that I have this area saved with MapMarX, I can go into my MapMarX list in the Saved Locations menu of the app and share it with hunting buddies or family members—a solid plan for group collaboration and safety measures.
