Here’s another great example of a familiar buck adding serious inches, and emerging one year later as a jaw-dropping trophy.

Here’s another great-looking buck that follows a notable trend this year: Known deer that our readers are watching grow up year over year, to become true trophy-class standouts. If that doesn’t get you pumped-up to add a few trail cameras to your hunting arsenal, it should. And in the case of West Virginia’s Michael Hawk, the situation is even sweeter because the buck in question is so unusually large for his hunt area. For sending in photos of a true WV stud, Hawk is is the Week 8 winner of our Big Buck HIT LIST contest. The weekly win scores Hawk a $50 gift certificate redeemable for any BigFoot Cellular Game Camera or accessories (see below), and also makes him eligible for our September drawing to win a BigFoot Cellular Game Camera.

“I first picked up this deer on a trail cam last year during the late season, and thankfully he’s stuck around,” Hawk wrote. “These photos were taken on a ridgetop at the edge of a big cut hayfield, surrounded by hardwood timber. I think what makes this buck unique is that I live in West Virginia! (LOL). Bucks of this caliber, in and around my hunting area, are few and far between.

“Hopefully I can take him with a bow; he would be my biggest bow kill, and my biggest buck overall, to date. I’d rather hunt with a bow than any other method.”
