“Give & Take” | Wyoming Antelope Hunt | THE HUNGER

by Josh Dahlke

Content Director MORE FROM Josh

Our human relationship with land and wildlife is complex and ever changing, but as hunters we’re privileged to build a steadfast understanding of the natural world—and our responsibility to sustain it—through every step we take in our pursuits. Recently, during what could’ve been viewed as a routine antelope hunt in Kaycee, Wyoming, I once again forced myself to pause and respect the bigger picture. This ranch, this hunt, and those in my company, reminded me on so many levels that hunting is a game of give and take. Before we can take we must give. Jim Schiermiester exemplifies this as a conscientious steward of his ranch and the wildlife that roam it, including the antelope that we so enjoy as hunters. #theHUNGER
