Hunting travel requires different considerations than booking a beach vacation. Your luggage needs to hold up to abuse at the airport, in camp, and no matter where the bumpy road takes you along the way. The Crusader X duffel bags from ALPS OutdoorZ are affordable, lightweight, waterproof and durable with plenty of straps for easy carrying. #theHUNGER
“In every hunter lies the spirit of a pioneer. We hunt not just for flesh or bone, but because our propensity for exploration is insatiable. We prefer to take the road less traveled, but with each passing generation that road becomes much more difficult to find. And that’s why we’re drawn to Alaska—a place with few roads at all.”
Charles Allen is a modern pioneer. In this film we share the story of his Alaska Expedition Company while hunting coastal brown bears along the remote Tsiu River in Southeast Alaska. #theHUNGER
Hunting dangerous game requires serious forethought about your strategy, and a big part of that equation is choosing the right gear. You need total confidence in your equipment. Your rifle and ammo selection are obvious priorities, but you can’t hit what you can’t see … so don’t overlook the importance of selecting proper optics for the task at hand. In the case of our recent brown bear hunt in Southeast Alaska, I topped my Mossberg Patriot with a Nikon Monarch 3 1-4X20 BDC riflescope. This video explains why. #theHUNGER

Staying sharp on Southeast Alaska’s Tsiu River has many meanings. For Jordan Trebilcock, a dedicated fishing guide, it means he must stay alert and keep his head on a swivel to avoid conflicts with brown bears. It means he must man the net like a boss to ensure his clients don’t lose any hard-won silver salmon. Back at the lodge, it means keeping his fillet knives in top condition with his Work Sharp to turn a day’s catch into fresh sushi.
Work Sharp’s full line of products are designed for the work bench, the butchering table, the kitchen, and even in the field for getting down to business with your blade after the shot. #theHUNGER

Charles Allen from Knives of Alaska and DiamondBlade Knives shares tips for choosing a big-game hunting knife. He covers some of the basic knife shapes and how they’re used for butchering and skinning deer, bears, moose and other big-game animals. #theHUNGER
It can be difficult to find an affordable rifle that’s well suited for taking on big, dangerous game animals. Mossberg filled that niche with the Patriot bolt-action rifle chambered in .375 Ruger. This Mossberg earned our trust during a brown bear hunting trip in remote Southeast Alaska. It features a Marinecote finish on metal components, plus a durable laminate stock, so it stands up to moisture, sand and other tough stuff remarkably well. #theHUNGER
“These birds have given me a reason to run around all over the world and experience so many wonderful things, while meeting so many great people. The turkey hunting community has no borders, and the language of this spring culture is universal.” #theHUNGER

“The earth is still cold, tired and weary from the woes of a long winter. But I am restless, and desperate to usher in the warmth of spring. So I paint a pattern with my shotgun and prepare for a long trip that will kick off yet another turkey season. Except this one is very special. For almost 2 decades I’ve chased the goal of completing a World Slam, and now I’ve closed in on the final prize just north of the equator. I’m here. I’m ready. And I’m hungry.”
Hunting the Ocellated wild turkey on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico is quite a trip. This new film paints a colorful picture of the Yucatan, its people and its peculiar jungle turkeys. #theHUNGER
