What’s your choice in compounds this hunting season? For HuntStand’s Will Cooper, his deer-season rig is the new Bowtech SR350. Why? Well, the reasons are many.
You might recall the Bowtech SR350 was among the standouts in HuntStand’s 2022 Compound Bow Field Test. The many-featured Bowtech SR350 was our well-deserved 2022 Best Value Award winner.
With its cams rigged in Performance mode this bow easily won our speed test. A 30-inch-draw 70-pound Bowtech SR350 sent a 30.5-inch Easton Full Metal Jacket 340 arrow downrange at a test-leading 294 fps. That was just over 21 feet per second faster than the slowest bow in our test.
The Bowtech SR350’s amazing Deadlock Cam system allows bowhunters to easily make accuracy-enhancing tuning tweaks. Those include getting fixed-blade broadheads to fly true, and getting rid of those sometimes-mysterious left and right tears. With the proven Deadlock system (mounted on both the top and bottom limb tips), anyone can make those tweaks quickly and easily. And even better, they can be made without a bow press. That’s huge.
We talked about how fast this bow can be, but we all know speed isn’t everything when it comes to bowhunting. We’d recommend keeping this bow in “Comfort Mode,” because we found that draw cycle so smooth and easy drawing. Those are qualities that allow us to confidently draw, and get on target quickly. And that’s whether we’re up in a stand, or on level ground.
In the end, the Bowtech SR350 is, flat-out, a very fun bow to shoot.
