Your hunting land can become great, and even better than it already might be.
Land management is a paradox. First, as a landowner, it’s a right. Secondly, as a hunter conservationist, it’s a responsibility. And thirdly, as a wildlife enthusiast, it’s a privilege. These are undeniable truths, and that’s why HuntStand established the Total Whitetail Property Makeover Contest.
Of course, land is an ever-changing landscape. Those who manage properties for wildlife must ensure it’s changing for the better. That’s especially true for whitetails, and other native species, which rely on early successional habitat to thrive. Additionally, those who hope to capitalize on hunting opportunities must set up their hunting land in such a way that lends to effective hunting.
Those who agree, and who own hunting land, might consider entering the Total Whitetail Property Makeover Contest.

What to Expect
The fortunate grand prize winner of HuntStand’s Total Whitetail Property Makeover Contest will benefit from a property visit conducted by HuntStand’s team of land consultant professionals. These top-shelf habitat and whitetail experts can help transform your land and unveil its utmost whitetail potential.
For example, the property might benefit from creating bedding areas, food plots, shooting lanes, screening cover, tree plantings, and more.
“We want to help them make some changes to what they already have, but also really go 360 on this thing and find every possible angle to maximize the property,” said HuntStand’s Josh Dahlke. “We even take some of their existing setups and tweak things, because they’re maybe slightly off the mark when it comes to considerations for wind, etc.”
Upon arrival, the HuntStand team will sit down with the winner(s). We will talk about the property history, go over existing deer activity, and devise a game plan to improve the land’s attractiveness to whitetails and overall hunt-ability of the property.
Overall, the winner can expect:
- Discussions on goals and expectations.
- Improved habitat through needed property changes and enhancements.
- Food plot establishment.
- Treestand and hunting blind deployment.
- Trail camera deployment.
- Consultation advice on how to hunt the property.
- And more.
In addition to the land consulting service and gear deployment, HuntStand will bring a production crew to film the entire process. The “before,” “during,” and “after” will be shared with the HuntStand community. This will document the improvements, and offer the hunter(s) an opportunity to share their story and the property’s legacy.
“It’s amazing, because throughout these three days, it’s been a complete makeover of our land,” said Jason Brandt, the 2023 Total Whitetail Property Makeover winner. “But it’s also been a makeover of our mentality as a hunting group. We’ve converted our thought process in hunting as a result of this. We’ve seen the changes, and now we’re seeing the results that can produce and hold deer. We couldn’t be any happier.”

How to Enter the 2024 Contest
Entering the 2024 Total Whitetail Property Makeover Contest is simple. Participants have one of two entry options.
