Great New Hunting Gear for 2024

As a longtime attendee of the ATA Show, I’ve seen a lot of hunting gear. The past 10 years have produced significant change in the hunting gear landscape, and largely for the better. This year, some winning pieces of hunting tech and gear landed at the show. Here are 22 pieces of great new hunting gear for 2024.

ATTRACTANTS AND FOOD PLOTS

A large percentage of deer hunters use attractants, food plots, or both, in their overall hunting strategy. Where legal, each of these can help hunters attract, hold, and even grow deer. This year, a whole new crop of offerings are available to land managers and deer hunters.

Evolved Hail Mary

The all-new Hail Mary by Evolved is a great annual food plot seed mix. This is a solid last-minute option for food plotters. As a 20-pound bag, it covers ¼ acre (11,000 square feet or 35 yards by 35 yards). This mix includes cereal rye, forage turnips, and winter wheat.

The Breakfast Club by Evolved offers a plate of great grub. Another annual food plot seed mix, this blend of cereal rye, forage rape, triticale, winter oats, and winter wheat. This mix offers a big advantage, though, in that it is easy to plant. It spans ¼ acre.

Evolved Countdown

The new Countdown by Evolved is another annual offering. It’s developed for late-season hunts thanks to a mix of forage rape, forage turnips, and radishes. It includes Yellow Jacket enhanced coating, containing up to 50% coated seed. This covers ½ acre (22,000 square feet). It should be replanted each year.

Evolved Throw & Gro with Clover

The heralded Throw & Gro by Evolved is now new and improved. Enter Throw & Gro with Clover — an excellent annual food plot seed mix with no tilling required. It includes Yellow Jacket enhanced coating, containing up to 50% coated seed. This offering provides nearly 50% more clover, and covers ¼ acre (11,000 square feet). As an annual, it should be re-planted each year.

Evolved Infuze Protein Block

The Evolved Infuze Protein Block is powered by Rackology for better deer nutrition. This block is great for  attracting deer throughout the season. Diving deeper, it includes processed grain by-products, plant protein products, and other key ingredients. It supplies 22% crude protein (min), 5% crude fat (min), 7% crude fiber (max), and more.

Evolved Infuze Salt Block

The Evolved Infuze Protein Salt Block is made with Rackology in mind, effectively maximizing nutrition for deer. Wildgame Innovations Hangtime Hard Candy

The Hangtime Hard Candy by Wildgame Innovations is a newly imagined hanging attractant that brings deer in quite well. It’s an acorn-flavored product with added salt flavoring. It’s quick and easy to hang (with a rope), is long-lasting, and offers an intense aroma. It works great for trail camera inventory or posing deer for a shot. It’s 3.5 pounds.

Boss Buck Feeder

A leader in the deer attractant space, the new Boss Buck Feeder offers a great opportunity to provide a feeding mechanism for whitetails. This new feeder provides an effective route to maximize your corn investment. Allow deer to feed without so much of your bait station bill going to waste.

BROADHEADS AND MORE

Bowhunters are always searching for the quintessential broadhead. This year, NAP released five incredible selections that are designed to bring down game quickly. They have different options for those preferring different things, including offerings in both the mechanical- and fixed-blade categories.

NAP Verdict

The new Verdict by NAP is a solid broadhead selection for compounds and crossbows. It’s 100 grains and delivers a 2-inch cutting diameter. Wildgame Innovations Encounter Cellular Trail Camera

The Encounter Cellular Trail Camera by Wildgame Innovations is another heavy hitter for 2024. It has a 0.4-second trigger speed, 80-ft illumination range, takes 26-mp photos, and more. The Encounter supports a wide-angle, 16:9 aspect ratio. It runs on eight AA batteries and lasts up to 6 months (depending on usage and environment). Additionally, this camera comes with a cable lock ready latch, 12-volt DC jack (compatible with solar power panels), and 6-ft adjustable strap. It’s powered by AT&T or Verizon. The first 100 photos are free each month.

BOOTS, KNIVES, AND MORE

There are many different gear items hunters need before heading afield. As expected, from rubber boots to hunting knives, the industry produced yet another great round of product releases.

Muddy Swap Folding Knife
